"We trialled LetterLearn with one of our students with autism.  Earlier on, we had used another letter program with lots of graphics which we thought would be appealing, but this 6 year old student was quite taken back with too much movement and colour of this other program; he became upset and moved away from the computer.  On another day, we set him up with LetterLearn; he really enjoyed completing the spelling tasks.  It is great that there are not too many graphics, lights and sounds.  This student was able to find the letters on the keyboard, and the prompts are set up so well so that if a mistake were made, the letter is simply not recorded and the student has another try at it, so that the learning is errorless.  This student spent an amazing 20 minutes focused on this learning program, showing clear evidence of satisfaction and enjoyment.  He was able to navigate well from word to word and from section to section of the program.  Congratulations on such a great program to use with students with special needs."

"I'm studying primary teaching at the moment and i think this is great. I really like the flexibility of being able to customise it; context is so important for successful learning and this feature delivers this. As you also no doubt know, the use of ICT across the curriculum is highly encouraged, and having a package that can integrate cross curriculum is very good. There are a number of pre-service teachers in the BTeach cohort who will be interested in this, primarily for use with students with learning difficulties. I shall pass this link to them.
